WELCOME TO RIVERSTONE
We have a place for you! We are a Spirit-filled multi-cultural community of many nations exalting Jesus and making Him known. Our church isn't perfect, but our heart is to be God's bold witnesses: acting in love and unity; submitting to the authority of His Word; walking in the power of His Spirit; and worshiping in Spirit and Truth.
WE’VE BEEN PRAYING FOR YOU!
Jesus said that the church should be a House of Prayer. At RiverStone, we take that seriously and have committed ourselves to learning to pray according to the Bible. God is answering our prayers and we’re seeing lives changed. We are seeking to pray for each home in our neighborhood and surrounding community. We have intercessors who are praying for you!
Meeting Times
Our regular weekend gathering is on Sunday Mornings at 10am, in person and online!
Location
We are located at 1515 Insurance Lane, Charlottesville, VA 22911. Enter through the double garage doors on either side of the building!
So, who are we and what do we believe?
To put it simply, prayer, community, and sending are the core pillars to our mission. Learn more about our heart, who we are, and see our statement of beliefs by tapping here!
“Often I am asked about the beginning of RiverStone Church. My answer usually includes this statement, ‘I feel like I have been floating in a river and God has just been pushing the current along.’
Whatever someone thinks about the church’s beginning, the greater story is the faithfulness of the Lord to fulfill His plans for His own purpose. God alone is building this church. It is by His grace alone that it exists. There is no one person who can or will receive the glory because we have just been floating down the river.
The water, the current, the movement, the opportunities all are due to the mercy and kindness of the Lord. As I think about the previous year, as well the launch of RiverStone, I can only express thanksgiving because ‘in the beginning God’ called this church into being.”
Pastor Robert McCready
On any given Sunday at RiverStone, you can expect a gathering of imperfect people seeking to know a perfect God: worshiping Him through singing, praying, and reading His Word together. We think it's important not to take ourselves too seriously, but to take the Lord and what He has to say seriously—there is only One worthy of our worship! We do our best to make this a space that is safe to ask questions about God and life.
WHAT TO EXPECT
-
You’ll find a welcoming community of people learning to follow a perfect God together. We value both joy and reverence—taking God and His Word seriously while creating a space that feels genuine and approachable.
-
About 1 hour and 45 minutes—we know, it sounds long, but we think it’s time well spent. Our service flows naturally with a call to worship, a time of music and worship, a few announcements, preaching from the Bible, and space for music and response at the end. It’s unhurried, giving us room to worship, reflect, and engage with God’s Word together.
-
While we believe the whole service is an act of worship, our music time has a contemporary style with instruments like guitars, drums, bass, and sometimes other special types of instruments. No matter the style, our focus is on authentic, heartfelt worship that points to Jesus.
-
Dress is casual yet modest—just come as you are. Some people dress up a bit, but you’ll feel right at home in whatever you’re comfortable wearing.
-
Absolutely. This is a safe place to ask honest questions about God and life. Whether you’re new to church or have been following Jesus for years, you’re welcome here.
-
We offer vibrant, biblical kids' classes for infants through grade 3, which take place right after music and worship, during the sermon.
How Do i get involved?
At RiverStone, we don't have a classic church "membership." To become a part of our local church body and get connected with others, there are four simple things to participate in:
-
Join us for our Sunday morning services at 10AM! Don’t forget to fill out one of our connect cards and hand it to one of the ushers (or fill it out online) so we can get to know you better.
-
We host a "New Friends Meal" each quarter to help newcomers connect with each other, as well as with the church staff and pastors. These meals take place right after the service on the designated weeks. If you fill out the connect card during your visit, we'll send you more details about the next event!
-
This is a three-week course held quarterly on Sunday mornings from 8:50-9:50am, where you'll learn about our three core pillars: prayer, community, and sending. After attending a New Friend's Lunch, we'll send you details on how to sign up for the course!
-
Once you've completed the newcomer's course, you can join a serve team! Whether you're into photography, tech, music, hospitality, or something else, there's a place for you to use your gifts to honor His glory. Fill out this form to let us know where you’d like to serve!
